This privacy policy applies to the Android application Umbra Invite (package com.umbrabyte.invitationmaker), developed and published by Umbrabyte Apps (operated by sole proprietor Cristian Donet Segura). It complements the general Umbrabyte Privacy Policy.
Plain language summary: Umbra Invite designs your invitations and runs your guest list on your phone. Your invitations, guests, RSVPs, table notes and photos stay on your device. There are no accounts, Umbrabyte does not run servers that receive your event data, and there is no advertising. The only data that leaves your phone goes to Google Play, and only when you buy the one-time Umbra Pro unlock. When you share an invitation, it goes wherever you send it, through the Android share sheet.

3.3 Data Umbrabyte does NOT receive
During normal use of Umbra Invite, Umbrabyte does not receive:
- Your invitations, texts, photos or guest lists.
- RSVP answers, reception check-ins or table and menu notes.
- The images or messages you share, or the people and apps you share them with.
- Your phone number, device identifiers or location.
4. Sharing and purchases
4.1 Sharing invitations
When you share or export an invitation, Android opens its share sheet. The image or text goes only to the app or contact you choose, for example WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS or email. Those services handle that content under their own privacy policies. Umbra Invite does not send it anywhere else.
4.2 Google Play Billing
Umbra Pro (product luma_lifetime) is a one-time, non-consumable purchase processed by Google Play. Payment, taxes, currency conversion and receipts are handled by Google. Umbrabyte does not receive or store card numbers, bank details or other payment credentials. Prices depend on your region and are shown by Google Play; this policy does not state prices.
4.3 No other services
The app does not include advertising networks, and it does not integrate any Firebase SDK.
5. Purposes and legal bases
Under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR:
| Activity | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Creating invitations and managing guests | Provide the service you use | Performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR). The data stays on your device. |
| Reception check-in with the camera | Check guests at the door | Your consent, given when you grant camera access (Art. 6.1.a GDPR) |
| Umbra Pro purchase | Process and verify the purchase | Performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR) and legal obligations for accounting records (Art. 6.1.c GDPR) |
| Support correspondence | Answer your questions | Legitimate interest in answering requests (Art. 6.1.f GDPR), or performance of a contract where applicable |
When you enter the personal data of your guests, you act as the controller of that information. Umbrabyte does not receive it.
6. Retention, deletion and choices
| Data | How long it is kept | How to delete it |
|---|---|---|
| Invitations, guest lists and RSVP data | Until you delete them in the app or uninstall it | Delete them in the app, or clear the app storage or uninstall it in Android Settings |
| Free sharing counter and purchase status | On your device until you clear the app data | Clear the app storage in Android Settings. Purchases can be restored through Google Play. |
| Purchase records | Kept by Google under its own policies and legal retention periods | Managed through your Google Play account |
| Support correspondence | As long as needed to resolve your request and as the law requires | Ask us to delete it, using the contact in section 11 |
Cloud backup of the app’s data is disabled. Android’s device-to-device transfer, which you start when you set up a new phone, can copy the app’s data to that phone. Uninstalling the app deletes its local data from your device.
7. Security
- The app stores its data in its private storage, which other apps cannot read on standard Android devices.
- Cloud backup of the app’s data is disabled.
- The app requests only the permissions listed in section 3.2.
- There are no passwords to store because there are no accounts.
- You are responsible for locking your phone and for choosing the people and apps you share invitations with.
8. Your privacy rights worldwide
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because the app stores your data on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app by editing or deleting your invitations and guests.
For data held by Umbrabyte, such as support correspondence, contact us at support@umbrabyte.app. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or with the data protection authority in your country.
9. Children’s privacy
Umbra Invite is designed for adults who plan events, and the Google Play listing targets users aged 18 and over. Umbrabyte does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Names of children that a host enters in a guest list, for example for a birthday party, are entered by the host, who is responsible for them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes or when the law requires it. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page and in the app listing.
11. Contact
For questions or requests about this policy or your data, contact us at support@umbrabyte.app. Controller details are in section 2.
